There's tons of reported fixes on the Internet but the few that looked reasonably safe to me, haven't worked and "HID - Complaint Touch Screen" is no where to be found in Device Manager as it used to be. Clearly this is a very common problem that has afflicted countless Windows users who did the same thing. After an update from Windows 8 to Windows 10, my touch screen stopped working.
